1. Preparation: Prepare well for interview. Know about company/organization/college you are applying to. Understand position or course applied for.
2. Punctuality: Reach place of interview on time. Start from your place to place of interview at time taking into account unseen commute or other delays. Prior information from internet maps and other persons about exact location, how to reach there, how much time it will take to reach there will be quite helpful.
3. Documents: Remember to carry all required documents like educational qualification certificates, experience certificates, photographs, address proof, id proof etc. Carry their originals as well as a copy (self attested/attested by gazetted officer, as required). Also, remember to carry back original documents.
4. Reporting & Interaction: On reaching place of interview, report to concerned authorities for your attendance. While waiting for your turn, you may do light talk with other participants but never discuss about their or your preparation. This will unnecessary make you anxious. Also, do not do last minute cramming or reading.
5. Dress: First impression is last impression. Wear clothes according to occasion. For male candidates, light colored shirt, dark matching trouser, and a nice tie will do. For female candidates, salwar-kurta or sari will do. Wearing party shirts or sport shoes are must avoids. Wear only leather or other formal shoes.
6. Etiquettes: Etiquettes do count. Greet interview board on entering interview room and take seat only after being offered with an obvious thanks.
7. Body Posture: Body posture is equally important. Adopt one that shows your confidence and not arrogance or timidness.
8. Interview Process: Be polite and natural all through the interview process.
9. Question Answer Session: Answer questions completely and with confidence.
10. Don't Know Situation: If you don't know answer to any question then don't get restless. Remember, nobody can answer all questions. Either tell the board politely that you don't know or that you can give it a try. Sometimes, indirect questions are asked to assess your awareness about the happenings in the world or may be to judge your reactions to stressful situations i.e. your capability to handle crisis. It's better to keep calm and composed.
11. Last Mile: Interview board usually gives you chance to ask them questions. You can ask them more about the position you have applied or about the organization itself. But, never ask about your selection status in interview.
